Lady Lions Soccer @ Bethlehem Christian Academy

On Tuesday night a new old rivalry began. Our Lady Lions traveled to Bethlehem Christian for the very first contest in girls varsity soccer.

You could feel the nervous energy amongst the ladies. During warmups they found out that this was also BCA’s home opener. So the tensions mounted.

The Lions started with high energy and intensity. Pressing BCA and keeping them stuck on their half of the field. The ladies continued to move the ball trying to show patience in possession. Then without hesitation the Lions were on the board with a goal from Haley Herron, her 1st of the year.(1-0) Assist from Bianca Calvo. The Lions would quickly add another from a cross from Paxton Yancey and an assist from Ansley King, Karah Paschal scored her 1st of the year. (2-0). The Lions would add a third goal right before half through great combination play between Haley Herron and Bianca Calvo. With Bianca driving the ball in past the near post. (3-0)

After halftime BCA made some tactical adjustments and came out hungry to get on the board. BCA was happy to give the Lions a taste of their own medicine with strong and heavy pressure. The Lions could not find a way out of their defensive third. With 16 minutes left in the game changes in the way of substitutions gave the Lions the pick me up they needed. Then the game became one way traffic. The lions went on to score 5 more goals.

Gracie Nash (Bianca Calvo assist)

Karah Paschal (Bianca Calvo assist)

Haley Herron

Ansley King (Paxton Yancey assist)

Paxton Yancey (Emma Vandenoever assist)

A win but most importantly a solid performance in all aspects by all of the ladies.

The Lady Lions will host The Tallulah School on Friday in a region match up. Kickoff is at 5.
