Middle School Volleyball off to a great start

Loganville Christian Academy's Middle School Volleyball Lions had a great official start to their season with two wins at their Pre-Season Jamboree, played at Apalachee High School on Saturday, August 19.  The Lions began the day with a loss against Haymon Morris Middle (15-25, 13-25); however, they quickly turned it around to come out of the day with two wins against Providence Christian (25-10, 25-11) and Loganville Middle (25-18, 25-14).

The season continued last week with two regular matches against Loganville Middle and Westside Middle.  LCA's A team struggled in both their matches, losing to Loganville (14-25, 9-25) and Westside (11-25, 12-25).  The Lions have only three returning players from last year, and it showed in the match again Loganville Middle as many of their mistakes were due to a lack of experience.  The Lions played next against Westside, a tougher opponent, and even though the score does not reflect it, the girls showed huge improvement and were really playing like a team.  As they continue to grow, we look forward to what their season holds.

LCA's B team had a great week, winning three of their four games.  The Lions lost their first game against Loganville Middle (14-25) but then went on to win the second game in that match (25-18) and both their games against Westside Middle (28-26, 25-23).  These girls work hard, and their desire to never give up has lead them to some exciting wins.

Both teams play again this week at home.  On Tuesday, the Lions play against Russell Middle School, and they play Haymon Morris Middle School on Thursday.  Come out and support your Lions!
