Saturday, January 29, the wrestling team competed in the Area 1A region 8 wrestling tournament held at Commerce High School. LCA entered four wrestlers in the tournament being held to qualify for the sectional tournament. This is an individual tournament as well as a team tournament. As a team LCA finished 5th and all four wrestlers qualified to move on to the sectional tournament being held in Brunswick Ga. Sam Smith led the way in the 106lb weight class with a last second takedown to win in the finals over Commerce. Taylor Smith won by a pin over Athens Christian to finish third in the 220lb weight class. Josh Engemann (160lb) and Bailey Gordon (195lb) both finished fourth in their respective weight classes.
