MS Volleyball vs Hebron Academy

The LCA Middle School Lady Lions had a night of mixed emotions as the A-team lost to Hebron Christian Academy at home (12-25, 17-25) while the B-team followed that up with a win, defeating Hebron (25-17, 25-11).

The Lions A-team struggled at the beginning to receive the tough serves delivered by Hebron, and while they managed to turn it around in the second match, it was too late to recover from the deficit.  Top servers for the night were Claire Gann and Isabelle Gary, but their efforts alone were not enough to turn things around for the team.

The Lions B-team turned things around for the night and delivered a big win for LCA.  Hebron struggled to return the B-team serves the whole match. LCA’s top servers for the night were KatieBeth Sanchez and Camryn Fleming, followed by Ansley Maddox and Madison Reece.  KatieBeth earned an incredible 10 points on her serves, and Camryn’s serves earned a total of 8 points for the night. Hebron’s defense had no response for these powerful servers, and LCA took the victory.

We look forward to LCA’s next match against Loganville Middle at home Monday, September 10.

Lady Lions lose hard against Bethlehem

LOGANVILLE, GA – The Lady Lions lost a hard game against Bethlehem Christian Academy on Tuesday at home. It was a tough game that went to five sets. All girls contributed with their individual skills but in the end it just wasn’t enough. Ansley King lead the team in digs and passing. The girls are adjusting to different players in new positions because of illness and injury. We are continuing to move forward in the right direction. Big things are still to come from this young team. The Lady Lions are away Tuesday, September 11, in a tri-match at Parkview.

MS Volleyball vs Haymon Morris

The LCA Middle School Lady Lions came off of the long weekend with a roar, defeating Haymon Morris in three of the four sets played on Tuesday, September 4, at Haymon Morris Middle.  The Lions A-team started off the night playing some of the longest rallies they have seen all season. Haymon Morris didn’t take it easy on them, but the Lions handled it all with great skill.  The A-team setters, Isabelle Gary and Kylie Nash, were solid the whole match, making it possible for the Lions hitters to play aggressively at the net and score point after point. Ella Morris had one of her strongest matches ever as the team’s top server and as an unbreakable force at the net.  The Lions defeated Haymon Morris in just two sets (25-19, 25-23). This puts the A-team with an overall record of 2-3.

The Lions B-team also had a great night, winning one of their two sets against Haymon Morris (26-24, 17-25).  Sydney Stewart and Scarlet Gary were the team’s top servers. All the B-team Lions played well, but Camryn Fleming stood out from the crowd with the huge improvements she showed in both her serving and overall play, making several critical plays that led to the Lions success.  Madison Reece also made a big impact on the match with the incredible ball control she showed throughout. It was an exciting match from start to finish and leaves the B-team with an overall record of 2-3. The Lions play again at home on Thursday, September 6, against rival Hebron Christian Academy.  Come out and support your Lions!
