Lions run fast at Trinity, sights set on GISA State Meet

The Lions competed in the Trinity Invitational Meet in Sharpsburg on March 23. The high school boys and middle school girls teams both finished 4th out of 15 teams; high school girls finished 8th.

Highlights: Ryley Hampton won the 400 with a personal best time of 1:03.72; Dana Lucas, Jr. ran sub-11 in the 100-meter dash, placing second with a time of 10.96.

As we close out this first half of the season and look towards region and state, many of our Lions find themselves at the top of the GISA leaderboards.

Myles Ailster is the top seed in both the 110 and 300 Hurdles. Dana Lucas, Jr. is out front in the 100. Many our high school boys and girls are currently Top 5 seeds in their events. The Lions are looking to qualify for state at the region meet on April 18 in Jonesboro.

Dachelle Lucas, Azalea Snell, and Isabelle Gary control the middle school board – leading the league in the 100, 400, 800, 1600, 100 hurdles, and 300 hurdles. There is not a middle school GISA championship, but some of the middle school team will compete in the statewide Middle School Championship meet to be help at Parkview High School on April 19-20.
