Loganville Christian Academy Defeats Westminster Schools Of Augusta And Capture First Region Win Of 2019

Loganville Christian Academy claimed a 16-5 victory on Friday notching their first GISA region AAA win while staying a perfect 3-0 on the season. Lead by McGhee, Morris, and McCarty on the hill, solid defense, and hot bats the Lions took control of the game early and kept prowling.

The Lions victory was aided by ten runs in the first inning. LCA's offense was powered by Dalton Strickland, Allen Brown, Chantz McClendon, Huston Morris, Stone McCarty, and Cameron Anderson, all driving in runs in the first inning. The Lions tallied 14 hits in the game. Brown, Morris, Strickland, McCarty, J.R. Curley, McClendon, and McGhee all managed multiple hits for Loganville Christian Academy. McGhee, McClendon, Curley, McCarty, Strickland, Morris, and Brown each collected two hits to lead LCA.

Keon McGhee was on the hill for Lions. He surrendered four runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two. Huston Morris allowed 2 hits, 1 earned run and two strikeouts in two innings of work which lead the way for Stone McCarty to come in and strikeout the side and close out the game in the bottom of the fifth.

The Lions have a busy week ahead as they travel to GHSA oppenent Meadowcreek on Monday, March 11, host region power John Milledge Academy on Tuesday, March 12th and travel to Augusta Prep for another region game on Friday, March 15th.
