Clay Target Team meet at Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds in Atlanta, 11/2/19

Last Saturday dawned clear and cold for our Shooting Lions.  Two of our squads found themselves on the line at 9:00am staring directly into the rising sun while facing the morning chill. But our shooters endured and turned in a number of excellent performances.

The overall team score was 519, good for 4th place among the twelve schools represented.  Special congratulations are due our team captain, Jacob Dudik, who tied for 1st place in trap with 92 targets broken out of 100 and finished 5th overall in the entire meet with a 179.  This is our Clay Targets Team’s first ever individual first place in any event and certainly a milestone for our program.

Other performances of note include Evan Heit scoring a 171 overall & Will Anderson a 169.  Following Jacob in trap were Will Anderson 85 and Dalton Skipper and Evan Heit at 83.  Our high skeet scorers were Evan Heit and Landon Gackle at 88 and Jacob Dudik and AJ Bagwell at 87.

This was the final regular season event.  The squad is gearing up for the three-day State Tournament at the Forest Hills Gun Club in Savannah on November 21-23.
