Lions lose a close one late

BETHLEHEM – There’s probably no such thing as a “good loss” but Loganville Christian Academy’s seven point loss to Bethlehem Christian Academy comes close.

Last time the two schools met, Bethlehem outscored the Lions 8-to-one but things were a little different this year and the final score was 35-28 in favor of the Knights.

The first half was defined by explosive plays and penalty flags with the scored knotted at 21 apiece at the half. The second half featured a plethora of cramps plain old fatigue and the first game of the season for each team finally came to an end.

The final outcome wasn’t decided until 3:22 left in the game and the Knights, who had been trailing for most of the fourth quarter, put a final drive on the board to take the win.

LCA standouts for the evening were quarterback Cameron Anderson, running backs Keon McGhee and Brian Borrero and receivers Jordan Jackson and Dana Lucas, Jr.

The Lions are on the road again next week as they travel to McDonough to face region opponent Creekside Christian Academy.
