Loganville Christian Academy Lady Lions Varsity Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Gatewood

Loganville Christian Academy Lady Lions defeated Gatewood 13-5 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at four with Loganville Christian Academy Lady Lions batting in the top of the fifth when Sarah Meyers grounded out, scoring one run.

Cassie Boatright collected four hits in five at bats to help lead the Lady Lions to victory. Boatright singled in the first, singled in the fourth, homered in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh.

The Lady Lions took an early lead in the second inning. Taurrya Owens homered on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.

Gatewood evened things up at four in the bottom of the third inning. #9 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Hannah Starling pitched the Lady Lions to victory. She allowed two hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking zero.

The Lady Lions launched two home runs on the day. Owens went for the long ball in the second inning. Boatright had a four bagger in the fifth inning.

The Lady Lions tallied ten hits. Boatright and Owens all managed multiple hits. Boatright led the Lady Lions with four hits in five at bats. The Lady Lions tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Nicole Parkerson led the way with two.
